Virtual Support and How BK Attorneys Benefit

Technology today allows the ability to provide support services across the internet securely, seamlessly, and transparent to time-zones. With the increase of consumer bankruptcy filings almost doubling from this time last year, many Bankruptcy Forms Processing Services sprouting up across the internet. These service providers offer practicing consumer bankruptcy attorneys the back office work to produce a petition, follow-up with attorney clients for missing or incomplete intake information, due diligence, research when necessary, and ultimately the filing and tracking of cases.

Training in the field is essential to delivering quality petitions that consistently meet trustee approval. Two organizations currently offer this kind of high level training. 713Training / National Association of Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants and American Association of Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants. These are membership organizations each offering a wealth of information in the field of Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants and provides search options for attorneys to locate member service providers. Please take a moment to visit each site for more information. As attorneys who are researching this field for your support needs, it is important to review both of these member sites to determine if virtual service providers have been properly trained and are members in good standing.

How does an attorney benefit with virtual support? Simply put Time and Money. Time saved so the attorney is not preparing the petition and necessary client follow-up for missing or incomplete intake information allows for more time available to practice law. Money saved by outsourcing this work to a VBA at a dramatically reduced rate compared to that of the attorney doing this work themselves allows for more money now available to continue to grow your practice and increase your revenue. For 27 other reasons attorneys benefit from VBA services, please refer to “29 Advantages for an Attorney to Hire a Virtual Bankruptcy Assistant”. Virtual Bankruptcy Assistants typically work case-by-case. There is no fee-sharing. Rates are competitive. If your firm is already established and carry a consistent heave case load, look for service providers who offer bulk rates and offer discounts for consistent monthly case filings and referrals.

What does all this mean? I am an Accredited Virtual Bankruptcy Assistant (AVBA) and have been successfully supporting attorneys for almost two years. I operate my business under the name Title 11 Virtual Assistant. I bring over 30 years experience in the tech sector serving in various roles as an Executive Assistant, Software Quality Analyst, and work in Research. I have always been a bit of a tech geek and love the ability to work out of the house. I am based out of Northern California and serve attorneys from New York, Ohio, Florida, Chicago, Arizona, and the great state of California. I am an active member of both VBA organizations.

I have taken special interest in the new or solo bankruptcy attorney who is looking to add consumer bankruptcy to their practice. I have developed a guideline for new attorneys to set up their practice, instructions to secure PACER and CM/ECF account credentials, assistance with required training, and provide complete customized forms for all phases of the BK process from the consultation meetings to client intake forms.

In addition to assisting new attorneys, my role has recently expanded to assist new and future VBA’s. I offer reasonable consulting services to assist newly trained VBA’s in launching their own businesses and am available to answer questions.

I am happy to customize my services to meet individual needs and am flexible to accommodate various time-zones.
